KineMedics - AlterG anti-gravity treadmill

Changing the way Ottawa athletes rehabilitate with the new AlterG anti-gravity treadmill

February 25, 2013 – OTTAWA, ON: KineMedics is pleased to introduce the latest in training and rehabilitation technology - the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill. KineMedics is the exclusive Canadian distributor for AlterG, which uses NASA anti-gravity technology to unweight users. Users can train without pain to walk or run with less impact on injuries. The result is that the Anti-Gravity Treadmill helps people recover faster a!er surgery or injury.

“As the Canadian distributor for the AlterG, we are excited about the opportunity to bring this best-in-class training and rehabilitation technology to market in this country. The launch of the AlterG Training Centres is a great opportunity to showcase the capabilities of the AlterG. Our new website allows people in Ottawa and Calgary to book AlterG appointments at their local centres on-line, but also points people in other parts of the country towards all of the rehabilitation and training centres across the country who are ahead of the curve and have brought the AlterG into their facilities to service their patients and athletes” says Mark Simonson, President of KineMedics.

How does it work? Unweighting is achieved by inflating the air chamber to gently lighten the user to their desired body weight. Unweighting can be from 100% down to 20% body weight (in 1% increments) - something that no other rehabilitation equipment can do. Working out is more pleasurable and users have described that it feels like “walking on the moon”.

Who is it for? The Anti-Gravity Treadmill is suitable for a wide range of people – athletes, orthopedic and neurological patients, children, seniors, and those looking to lose weight. View this video to see inspiring stories of how the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill has helped patients reach their personal goals.

The AlterG Training Centre has a convenient website where users can book appointments online: which was created with the help of local digital communications company, Creekside Communications.
