CATA Announces 2011 National Athletic Therapy Month Award Winners

In June 2011, CATA members picked up the spirit and increased the exposure of athletic therapy across Canada. Certified athletic therapists and Regional Chapters nationwide communicated the advantages of the profession and promoted “Baby Your Brain” – Understand the signs and risks of head injuries.

The CATA provided member’s with a number of promotional mediums, including CATA stress ball “brains” plus NATM posters in French and English that featured a Baby Your Brain theme with a hockey, football and bike helmet to use to promote the professional of athletic in their local area and nationally.

The requests to the National Office for National Athletic Therapy Month items and information was very positive. Thirty events/activities were registered with the National Office and over 2500 promotional items (stress brains, posters) were distributed to members.

The CATA is pleased to announce the winners of the 2011 National Athletic Therapy Month Awards. The CATA is pleased to recognize the winners of the awards and their contribution to promoting the profession of athletic therapy.

The National Athletic Therapy Month Awards were judged in the areas of Regional Chapter, Clinic, Institutional and Personal submissions.

Plus secondary categories of Greatest Impact Award, Best Print Ad, Best TV Ad & Best Radio Ad.

The winners receive a National Athletic Therapy Month Certificate to be posted in their office or clinic plus a monetary award of $500 plus KineMedics Gift certificates. 

The CATA wishes to acknowledge KineMedics for their contribution of KineMedics Gift certificates and hard supply items plus their continued sponsorship of National Athletic Therapy Month event.

Institutional – Bison Athletic Therapy Centre

Personal – Collegiate Sports Medicine Staff

Greatest Impact Award – University of Winnipeg

Best Print Ad Award – Stapleford Therapy & Rehab Clinic

Best Television Ad Award – Saskatchewan Athletic Therapists Association

Best Radio Ad Award – Active Conditioning & Performance Rehab

The CATA congratulates the recognized winners above and their dedication to promoting the profession of athletic therapy locally and nationally.

The CATA looks forward to receiving submissions for National Athletic Therapy Month in June 2012. Start watching in the early spring for new and exciting concepts for National Athletic Therapy Month 2012.
